Opinion: Give Elizabeth Warren credit where it’s due, JRubinBlogger writes

Sen. Elizabeth Warren speaks at a Service Employees International Union forum on labor issues on Saturday in Las Vegas. By Jennifer Rubin Jennifer Rubin Opinion writer covering politics and policy, foreign and domestic Email Bio Follow Opinion writer May 1 at 11:00 AM The coverage of Sen. Elizabeth Warren has gone something like this: She blew it with the DNA test, showing that she couldn’t successfully spar with President Trump . She isn’t very likable .

As I’ve argued, by any objective measure Warren is a stronger standard-bearer for the left than Sanders and has fewer weaknesses. She is younger and has more ideas than Sanders does, doesn’t call herself a socialist and has been connecting with nonwhite voters. In CNN’s latest poll, the top three are Biden , Sanders and Warren . In the Quinnipiac poll, the order is Biden , Warren and Sanders . Finally, the Morning Consult poll has it as Biden , Sanders and Warren .

Now, keep in mind that Warren, like the rest of the contenders, is presently getting lapped by Biden. She very well might lose . However, her experience suggests that candidates should work hard , ignore media coverage, present their vision to voters, wow primary-goers with specificity and be a happy warrior. At least for Warren, that formula is paying off.

JRubinBlogger I'm surprised to see this article from Jennifer Rubin because she has been extremely vocal in her support of Buttigieg. It's like reporters wake up from a trance every so often and remember there are other candidates in the race. The fact that so many people in the media are

JRubinBlogger She's showing us what a hard work and determination is.

KMac_Rants JRubinBlogger I do!

JRubinBlogger Electability is achieved by representing the interests of the majority of Americans. :-)

JRubinBlogger If we listen w/american ears instead of democrat or republican ears, we might hear this woman has some good ideas & well thought out plans for how to implement them.

JRubinBlogger Hell no!

JRubinBlogger

JRubinBlogger I do.

JRubinBlogger Sanders is deservedly fading fast. The one concern in that is will he back the nominee? Warren has the experiences of life, work, child rearing, and congress to draw from as president and she will be a strong and able presence even to those that won't vote for her.

JRubinBlogger Elizabeth is pretty and good and suport poor. Rich’s must pay greats and enormous tax tributes

JRubinBlogger Rubin's ideal scenario is: the progressive vote gets shuffled and Biden wins decisively. Then she pretends that isn't what she wanted and scolds unenthusiastic progressives throughout the entire general (Don't you know Trump is a threat, he wasn't my first choice either, etc)

JRubinBlogger I am. Despite not being one of my favorites, I applaud her for the battle she's been in and still going strong to climb up to the top three. I still believe the debates will impact the standings.

JRubinBlogger Jennifer Rubin wrote this same article beat-for-beat literally 8 days ago in the same newspaper

JRubinBlogger LOL. She needs to drop out.
