One map shows how many student-loan borrowers could have gotten Biden's debt relief before lawsuits blocked his plan

on October 17 that required borrowers to take just five minutes to fill out their basic information, like their names, emails, and Social Security numbers.

This map shows how many borrowers, by state and Washington, DC, applied or were automatically deemed eligible for relief: "Unfortunately, less than a month after we published our application, court challenges brought on by Republican officials and special interests blocked us from accepting more applications, or from discharging debt for those borrowers who had been fully approved," Bharat Ramamurti, deputy director of the National Economic Council, told reporters on a Thursday press call ahead of the data release.

PolitiFact - Joe Biden blames Donald Trump for one quarter of today’s debt, ignores contextJoe Biden is right that one-fourth of U.S. debt accumulated under Donald Trump. However, much of the current federal debt stems from mandatory payments, such as those for Social Security and Medicare. The giant baby boom bubble that has stressed Social Security finances has started to recede. dodges the fact the GOP $TRILLION dollar tax cut slashed tax revs which were replaced by DEBT There's direct link from slashed tax revenue & to more debt Stop the 'what aboutism': the facts are clear: less tax rev = more debt; GOP caused less tax revenue = more debt A large portion of that also has to do with COVID spending.
