Working parents who receive Universal Credit are set to receive a 'big boost' to the family finances this year, as the Department for Work and Pensions increases the amount of help that parents get with the eye-watering costs of childcare - with some receiving as much as £20,872 per year.
"We are delivering on our plan to get people into jobs, as we cut taxes, drive down inflation, and put money back into the pockets of hardworking families." Once all of these benefits have been added up, the DWP says they are worth £20,872 per year to some parents on Universal Credit. But even families on higher incomes are likely to see more money from the government this year, with changes to the High Income Child Benefit Charge putting £1260 in the pockets of some middle income families.
